I have taken three courses and have been thoroughly pleased with all of them. The basic and advanced Botulinum Toxin Type A/ Filler course I attended with Jill not only gave me all of the basics I needed to build a successful injectable practice, but gave me the confidence that I would have a support system in the rare event that I had an additional question after the training course. The sclerotherapy course with Terri Harper was also very beneficial. In the two years I have been practicing sclero in my practice I have had to contact Terri two times with a question and she has answered within a matter of minutes and offered additional help in the case of further issues. I could not be happier with the training and follow up support I receive with AAI and the talented staff I have met along the way. I would highly recommend these classes and this fantastic group of professionals to anyone.
President and CEO, Founder of Aesthetic Advancements Institute
Mrs. Jones graduated with highest honors and received the Graduate Nurse of the Year Award and the Dekalb University Camille Colvin Scholar Award from DeKalb School of Nursing in Clarkston, Georgia in 1986.
The initial 15 years of her nursing experience was in the field of plastic surgery, as she worked alongside a plastic surgeon in his private practice; serving as the first-assist in surgery, managing the independent surgery center, delivering patient pre and post-surgical education, providing pre and post clinical care, as well as providing non-surgical aesthetic services to the practice’s patient base.
This extensive clinical experience, as well as the constant continuing education she pursued through professional plastic surgical societies, offered her the opportunity to perfect her skills in the delivery of non-surgical aesthetic procedures including cosmetic and reconstructive micropigmentation, laser and light based therapy, skin care and chemical peeling, sclerotherapy, and Botulinum Toxin Type A and dermal filler injections. Mrs. Jones was one of the initial nurses to receive Collagen Nurse Injector status in the US in 1989. In 1993, Ms. Jones earned her certification as a Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN) through the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses, Inc. (ASPSN) and continues to maintain her CPSN status.
In 2001 Mrs. Jones re-focused her efforts in developing her professional nursing career on becoming a Non-surgical Aesthetic Nurse Specialist. To this end, she worked within plastic surgeons’, dermatologists’ and occuloplastic surgeons’ practices as the primary practitioner providing a full complement of non-surgical aesthetic services such as Botulinum Toxin Type A, dermal fillers, sclerotherapy and Aesthetic Skin Care Training.
As a result of the multitude of requests from colleagues to share her expertise in the field of non-surgical aesthetics, in 2002, she established her company, Aesthetic Advancements Institute (AAI). She has personally instructed hundreds of physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses across the country in successful principles and practices of non-surgical aesthetic services.
In order to meet the overwhelming demand for the superior training she developed in the arena of non-surgical aesthetic medicine, she expanded AAI’s team of clinical instructors to include expert aesthetic physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants from all across the country and into Canada.
Category I CME and CE credit is awarded to each practitioner completing AAI’s Sclerotherapy and Botulinum Toxin Type A and Dermal Filler courses. The course manuals and instructional videos Mrs. Jones, along with AAI’s VP, Dawn Sagrillo, have developed and copyrighted serve as additional tools for sustaining superior patient outcomes.
Mrs. Jones continues to provide non-surgical aesthetic services to patients within a private plastic surgical practice three days per week. She also personally provides aesthetic instruction for her company, serves as an educational instructor for major manufacturers of non-surgical injectable products, serves as a consultant to those in the medical aesthetics industry, is a published author, and lectures nationally extensively on aesthetic procedures.
She has served on the National Board of Directors for the ASPSN as well as continuing to serve in a variety of leadership roles within the organization. She continues to be an active member of a number of other plastic surgical societies. She is a current member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Plastic Surgical Nursing.
In 2010 she was the recipient of the Valuable Contribution to Plastic Surgical Nursing Award through the ASPSN and in 2011was a finalist for the March of Dimes Georgia Nurse of the Year Award. Mrs. Jones is a core member and the leader of the Non-Surgical Aesthetic Procedure Task Force established through ASPS to develop protocols and strategies to ensure safe and effective outcomes for the aesthetic patient and is a contributing author of the first certification exam for non-surgical aesthetic nurses.
