Is Becoming an Aesthetic Nurse the Right Profession for You?

Have you thought about entering the field of aesthetic nursing? Not sure if you’re ready to make the leap? We put together some of the top reasons why being an aesthetic nurse is the right career path for you. If any of these sound familiar or resonate with you, it may be time to start shifting your career towards aesthetics.

You like helping people feel confident and beautiful: One of the most rewarding aspects of being a nurse injector is helping your patients feel like their best selves. The simple adjustments and tweaks that you can make to a patient’s face to make them feel and look better can be huge for your patients. The subtle differences in a patient’s look can help them feel more confident and beautiful.

You can be truthful, and sometimes blunt: Patients come to you because they want to appear more beautiful. They need you to tell them what they need, or in some cases do not need. You have to be able to say what you think will help them look “better.” In some cases though, you have to be able to tell patients if it’s too soon for another treatment or if it’s just not necessary. Sometimes a treatment won’t solve the problem a patient is looking to solve in the way they think it will.

You don’t enjoy other nursing fields: Many aesthetic nurses don’t necessarily enjoy the high-stress, fast-paced environment that some other nursing fields require. They might not get the true joy that should come from the job in other fields. Most nurses feel drawn to aesthetic nursing or enticed by plastic surgery and dermatology. Furthermore, the clientele for aesthetic nursing is vastly different from other fields, which is something that can also add to the appeal of aesthetic nursing.

You have a creative, artistic, and aesthetic eye: Part of being an aesthetic nurse is recreating a youthful appearance of the face. You must think of yourself as somewhat of an artist. You are tasked with designing your patient’s facial features to make them more symmetrical. So if you find the details and scrutiny of art fascinating or exciting, the aesthetic world might be the one for you!

After you make the decision to jump into aesthetic nursing, it is important to look at the required credentials, certifications, licensing, and continuing education required to practice in your state. It is also a great idea to find a practitioner to work with that will guide you and mentor you in the right direction.
